Tarte Tatin
makes 1 tart of 30 cm
200 g sugar
25 g butter
1 kg apples
250 g puff pastry
Preheat oven to 220 C.
Line 30 cm pan with baking paper, pour sugar evenly over the bottom of the pan.
Place pan in the middle of the oven and let sugar caramelise (approx. 10 minutes).
Remove pan carefully from the oven.
Cut butter into small pieces and distribute evenly over caramel.
Peel and core the apples and cut into quarters.
Arrange the apples with cut side down on the caramel.
Bake for 20 minutes at 220 C in the middle of the oven. Remove pan carefully from the oven.
Roll out pastry into a circle of about 32 cm. Place the pastry over the apple, tucking any excess with a fork.
Bake another 15 minutes at 220 C. Remove from the oven and let rest for 5 minutes.
Carefully turn the tart upside down onto a large plate. Remove baking paper. Serve warm with sour cream or ice-cream.
As you can see this tart tastes excellent.
Munch, munch and it’s gone!
Bon Appetit!
Yours,
